The Kingdom of God
The Kingdom of God is coming to this earth. It will have a King, government, subjects, laws, territories and scheduled events.
This Good News of the Kingdom shall be taught in all the world and then the end shall come
The Kingdom is not heaven (we don't go to live in heaven when we die).
The Kingdom of God is not something that exists just because 'it lives in our hearts'.
The KingHis name right now is Jesus Christ, but he will be given a new name by God. God has not revealed it yet.
He is to return soon to be with us. He is not going to come and then leave us to return to heaven. It is written that he would be known as "God with us", not "God gone away". His second coming really means a second coming, not a second going.
He told us to pray, "Thy kingdom come", not, "Let us ascend into heaven". He told us what the meek would inherit. Was it heaven? No. the answer is well known - "The meek shall inherit the earth".
His mission statement will include leading every single person possible to the Kingdom of God and everlasting life.
The righteous will find him to be like a good shepherd, diligent on their behalf, kind, forgiving, gentle, generous,
but the wicked who persist in rejecting the Kingdom of God will find he will rule with a rod of iron.
The GovernmentUnder God and the Father and the King Jesus, the whole world will be run by a family. This family will not be like certain other families intent on extortion, power, fear and intimidation. The family of God will have incredible power, and there will be miracles the like which have not yet been seen by man. They will be intent on serving the nations, guiding them to peace and wealth.
The appearance of these people will be like the Son of God, having a blinding brightness and glory. They were changed when they met Jesus at his coming.
Friend, to whatever nation you belong, you are now invited into the Kingdom of God. There are many offices and there have only been a few volunteers. What you are now being offered is a ground-floor opportunity with eternity attached to it. If you believe what you are reading then that is the first step. The SubjectsNo-one will be forced to be subject to God. Yes, pressure will be applied to those who wish to reject God, but the ultimate decision will be theirs'. Great as God is he has given every man a free will - the power to choose.
As the nations of the world begin to see the effects of following God's instructions they too will want to experience deep peace and success in business, family life, health.
LawsThe laws for the nations will be based on the Bible. Jesus said that until heaven and earth pass away nothing will be taken away from the Bible. The law will be an expression of God's love.
TerritoriesThe first territories to be affected will be those nearest to where Jesus returns, namely Jerusalem and the land of Israel. However all nations on earth will eventually welcome the rulership of the Father through Jesus and his brothers.
Scheduled EventsThe years we speak of span a thousand years (the Millenium). The conclusion of this era we will cover at another place on this site.
There will be times in the year that will be special, just like nowadays we have our remembrance days and festivals. They will include times of great celebrations and rejoicing with fine foods and wines. The music will be magnificent and immensely moving.
